I always want to be honest with y'all and I was truly unsure about these cauliflower crust pizzas, even though I've enjoyed other Real Good Foods frozen entrees in the past. My own skepticism is probably what took me so long to try them in the first place and I have been missing out!!!
Shortly before our state went on "shelter in-home" (sounds nicer than shelter in place 😜) I had hubby run to the store to pick up supplies. Unfortunately, EVERYONE else had the same idea. He called to let me know Safeway was wall to wall with people cramming everything into their carts and breathing on each other. 🙄 I was NOT about to have him standing in a packed store while we're supposed to be social distancing to avoid a highly contagious virus. Soooooooo-- we used quick thinking and he ran into the Vitamin Shoppe to see if they had any low carb eats we could stock up on to last a few days. We were in luck because he the only customer in the store and they had an entire freezer of Real Good Foods! I haven't tried the cauliflower crust pizzas yet, so I had hubby pick up a few of the Margherita and the Uncured Pepperoni.
We busted out these bad boys this evening for a movie night!
So how did they taste?
They were friggin DELICIOUS! Hubby and I enjoyed the pepperoni and mom loved the Margherita. The crust was soft, unlike the RGF chicken crust pizzas, which have a chewy bite to them. I couldn't really taste the cauliflower in the pizza at all and that was really nice. It still tasted like a frozen pizza, but sometimes that's just what I'm craving on family pizza night. I truly wasn't expecting a pizzeria-style pie anyhow! 😜
The cauliflower crust "dough" was pillowy, but also got a bit crisp on the bottom. The sauce tastes like a frozen pizza sauce to me, but sometimes that's just what the nostalgic body and mind wants! (Who doesn't love flashing back to their childhood movie nights?!?!) The rest of the ingredients are fairly standard toppings for pizzas, but I will note that the tomatoes on the Margherita pizza tasted VERY fresh. Overall, I know I'll be stocking up on these ones and I can't wait to taste any other flavors offered!
