Wiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiingz!
It took me a long time to try the place, it wasn't even until I was well into the ketogenic lifestyle that I'd give up my precious pennies for wings. Now don't get me wrong, I can put away wings for days. I just never understood why something that cost a few cents to buy in the stores could jump to a few dollars after being soaked in a vat of cheap fat. π€·Previously if we'd wanted them, we'd just make them at home! (We usually went out to restaurants for the typical burgers, pizza, or food outside of my cooking skillset.)
Lemon Pepper Wings
After starting keto I was cooking A LOT more and since I was crafting so many delicious bunless burgers, I wasn't about to waste one of my nights off from cooking on one of those. The pizza was an obvi no-go also! That's when the wings came into our lives. πππ
I was on the phone with my brother, who loves Wingstop, and through my complaining, he told me to give them a try. I checked out the menu, bit the bullet, and ordered dinner for the family that night. We were really hesitant, so we chose the two safest flavors they had; original and garlic parmesan. On the side, we ordered celery sticks and ranch. Everything was absolutely delicious. The wings were crispy, they had great flavor, and I'd quickly fallen in love with their ranch dressing! At least, until I looked at the receipt to see how much this lovely meal cost us. It was seriously $43 bucks for a dinner of wings and celery sticks. π
With that being said, I have been to Wingstop COUNTLESS times after this so at the end of the day it's worth the price tag for me! Below are the lowest carb flavor options they have, aside from plain. I also included the nutrition facts from the restaurant itself. I order 10 wings, 1-2 sides of celery, and ranch. My personal faves on the flavor are the Lousiana Rub and the Lemon Pepper.
β€β€β€Tips: I order mine extra crispy. Also, if I'm doing OMAD or craving a gentle indulgence, I'll order carrots too! π
